“MARILYN ETERNAL” by Sean Danconia. Originally commissioned by representatives of the Marilyn Monroe Estate in 2010—Danconia was tasked with creating a new spin on the Monroe ethos for an art and apparel program.
He chose a science fiction synopsis as a jumping-off point (situated in his Philip K. Dick-ish Super-Pulp universe), telling the tale of Monroe being re-animated via a combo platter of nanotech, biotech, quantum computing and cloning by the illusive Mega Enigma corporation. But this Marilyn has been brought back for a special purpose—to hunt her own killers—if not in the present, then in he past and if necessary…into a future that shouldn’t exist…in a city called—Majestyland.
