“HELLO BIRTHDAY, KITTY PARTY” by Sean Danconia.

In the midnight sky, with my third eye,

    I saw a Kitty—oh—she could fly.

Through the air, to the moon—this little Kitty had no broom.

    Rainbows flowed—from her trail,

    Colorfully connected to her tail.

Very cute she was—so fluffy too,

and my heart sang out—”I love you”.

Just then she turned and looked my way,

Which made me feel quite happy and…ga…er…carefree.

    But as I replied—“Enchanté”…

I was NOT me—I was Paul Laffoley.

“NINTENDO · LEAVE LUCK TO HEAVEN” by Sean Danconia.

A visual history of the famed gaming company that got its start in the later 1800’s by producing Portuguese-inspired playing cards called Hanafuda (flower cards)—popularized by the Yakuza and eventually paving the way for Nintendo to become the world’s greatest and most prolific electronic gaming empire, made possible by its (arguably) coolest invention—the Nintendo Game & Watch (Donkey Kong)—the basis for today’s handheld consoles, phones and a plethora of other devices.

The art features Super Mario as seen through the eyes of Osamu Tezuka (nod to Saruta from Hi No Tori) sporting Irezumi tats featuring the original arcade art for Donkey Kong JR and the Orochi from The Yakuza (Takakura Ken, 1979) and filled up by Colecovision wishes and Yamauchi dreams…

A CLOCKWORK CONUNDRUM (MONDO MOLOKO MILKBAR)” by Sean Danconia

Oh it was Gorgeousness and Gorgeosity made FLESH…indeed. At least that’s what the Goloss had promised him. His new toy. Right straight from the good folks at Mega Enigma Gaming in the Japans. Although this model was Korean—prized above all for their luscious glory and ferocious ferocity.

Alex leaned against the wall—close to the exit—as the Devotchka stood up, emerging from the replicon, the bright sweet liquid dripping off her body. Nagoy she was and nuking of a bright eau de L’Orange. Yes. THIS was a cheena.

She was lean. She was mean. She was a Clockwork Killer—and ready for action. “And she should be, with the amount of deng this whole game had required”, Alex thought out loud.

The plan was simple. And it wasn’t about revenge. Never that. No. Alex had grandeur illusions. It was clear that MAN as Alex believed himself to be—was going passé composé. Something needed to be done before Alex was extinct. And this clockwork cheena was IT. She could do IT. With his help, naturally. Rip the whole machine down. But before all that SHE needed an eemya. Luckily it was written on the instruction booklet in bright blood ORANGE letters.

He stood for a moment and uttered the word(s): Babalon—the Third.
